At Embers Wood Grill, our mission is to offer the highest quality food, service and ambiance to create an exceptional dining experience in Gainesville.
We serve only USDA Prime Cut Meat. Our real wood grill uses a unique combination of pecan, hickory and cherry woods to create the right amount of heat, aroma and flavor in our culinary creations. The Chef’s Table exemplifies our approach to fine dining, offering a personalized menu and detail oriented service. Our experienced staff is uniquely qualified and trained to create a memorable evening out.
Owner Ryan Todd, a certified Court of Masters Sommelier, brings his fine wine expertise to each dinner course served. Graduating from Court of Master Sommeliers in Sonoma County, California, Todd is the only wine specialist holding the title of Sommelier in north central Florida. While this title is seen in the Southeast region in South Florida and Atlanta, Todd is the only Sommelier in Gainesville and surrounding Northeast Florida. Todd is a nine time winner of the Wine Spectator Magazine’s Award of Excellence Wine List.
Co-owner Briton Dumas, holds the title of Executive Chef. Mr. Dumas obtained his Bachelor of Culinary Arts in 2005 from Miami’s Johnson and Wales University. He is an alumnus of Gainesville’s Eastside High School Culinary Arts Program. His culinary honors include top awards at Johnson and Wales’ Taste of Florida and the Florida Restaurant Association’s Team Culinary Competition.
The Embers restaurant space is very flexible. The main dining room provides an intimate setting for private evenings out. The private dining room, lounge and outdoor courtyard are ideal venues for groups of all sizes. Our restaurant is an ideal venue for anniversaries, birthdays, corporate meetings, graduations and other special events.
